Success Story: Transport of 22 Tons of PVC Additives to Moscow Using TIR Stake Trailers
Project Overview
In July 2025, DR Trans delivered 22 tons of UN 3267-classified PVC additives from Shandong to Moscow using stake trailers and TIR protocols. The cargo was secured with triple-layer protection: moisture-proof cloth covers, reinforced bulk bags, and polymer film wrapping. This approach enabled a 9-day transit with zero moisture damage or contamination.
Why Stake Trailers Optimize Bagged Chemical Transport
Design Feature
Functional Advantage
Removable Side Stakes
Enabled direct forklift access for bulk bag loading/unloading
Open Framework
Allowed vapor dissipation from film-wrapped pallets
Flat Timber Deck
Provided a stable base for layered stacking (4 bags high)
Configurable Tarps
Deployed moisture-proof covers during rain without trapping fumes
Operational Insight: Stake trailers’ adjustable side stakes permitted rapid tarp deployment during sudden weather changes – critical for moisture-sensitive additives.
TIR System: Accelerating Cross-Border Transit
As a TIR-certified operator, DR Trans leveraged this United Nations framework to overcome traditional border delays:
Single-Seal Clearance Chinese customs applied tamper-proof seals in Shandong, recognized by all transit countries.
Paperless Digital Management Real-time GPS coordinates synced with electronic TIR Carnet, providing:
Automated transit logs
Instant exception alerts
Client visibility via web portal
Eliminated Border Queues Kazakhstan and Russian border crossings are completed in under 2 hours each, compared to 12-36 hours for standard shipments.
